You are a wonderful writer and story teller Stick'em. I enjoyed your "birds-eye" view and reporting of the game.

"You see, the Ravens fans haven’t been around long enough to remember the days when Art Shell smashed folks in the mouth and our “D” latched on their QB like frothing gila monsters after raw steak"

Classic line. Your compadre is arms (and spirit)

After the game, as the significant other and I were walking back to the car, we happened upon a stretch limo.

The two drivers were wearing Raider gear and talking with the small number of the faithful who happened by.

The drivers (for Al Davis), said to tell everyone, "This just means we'll be 14-2."

Now, not even I have drunk enough of the Al Davis Kool-Aid to believe this line.

This is obviously a rebuilding year in which the coaches are implementing a new system and evaluating the players to see which ones can fulfill their appointed roles.

Is 14-2 realistic? Nope.

But I do expect this team will put fear in someone's heart again sooner rather than later.

We want the respect back. At least lose with dignity, if lose you must.

If you throw an INT or fumble, at least run the guy down like Rich Gannon did on Shawn Springs.

Don't stand around watching a 300 pound hippo like Kelly Gregg take it to the house, wait... make that run out of gas before his blubbery jowls could fall headlong over the goal line.

This is not too much to ask.
